Many complaints have been filed throughout the year regarding the brand. Some arguably love and appreciate Zara's love for restraint and taste. Others arguably criticize the brand for being predictable. Boring is a word that's also often used to describe the brand. Zara has slowly tried to take risks.

The brand is well known among its consumer base. However, questions are surfacing now more than ever before. Fast Fashion is not well regarded as it is known for low quality, identity confusion and losing sight of their ideal consumer. To be honest, most fast fashion brands easily fall into this trap where identity is absent. They sell anything and everything. A market opened for all. Zara, on the other hand, had crafted this desirable brand effect by heavily emphasizing its aesthetic. However, the brand has started taking slightly more risk and it's unsure where this new direction is going. The Initiator has presented standards to you. While standards work, embodiment lingers. How do we feel in the clothes? It's a question that rarely gets asked as visual aspect is mostly what's focused on when getting new clothes. Presence and feeling rarely matter. Because of that, risk tends to disappear as brands feel unable to step out the box.

Zara is known for being predictable. No question regarding the matter. But how long before familiarity becomes a burden the brand can't get out of? How many times have we wished for more. The brand has done nothing besides putting out a dress that emphasizes comfort. As it is well known, crochet outfits are the most habitable pieces of garment. Beyond that, the dress in question is colorful. Color brings confidence and joy to anyone who's willing to take a risk. Can we even call this a risk? It's a brightful design to celebrate summer. Your Curatorship, this is getting out of hand. We always celebrate comfort and today is no different.
